Hello there,

  • I'm Kara Sunwell

a Therapist , Consultant, and Facilitator

    Four pillars that shape me:

    Nature
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has profoundly shaped who I am today. I often say that nature is my church, and this reverence for the natural world permeates every aspect of my life. I integrate eco-therapeutic techniques into my therapy practice, consult with various like-minded organizations, and facilitate events that celebrate our connection to the more-than-human world.

    Creativity
From a young age, I’ve embraced creativity as a vital outlet. My undergraduate degree in General Fine Arts has instilled in me the belief that there are opportunities for creativity in every moment. I apply this mindset to my therapeutic work by conceptualizing healing paths and incorporating creative activities. As a consultant, I approach problems in unique and unconventional ways, and in facilitation, I love bringing people together through shared creative experiences.

    Mindfulness
I discovered mindfulness in my late twenties during a challenging period marked by depression and burnout. It has since become one of my most valuable tools. I find mindfulness applicable in numerous situations, capable of fostering lasting change when there is genuine commitment. I weave mindfulness into every offering I provide.

    Community
Community holds great significance for me. I deeply value my family and friends, and I actively seek connections within my broader surroundings. My graduate degree from Antioch University specializes in Community Psychology, reinforcing my belief that healing cannot occur in isolation. We are all interconnected, and to thrive, we must support one another.
